Free Form As Design Intent
Double curved free form glazing unit are processed by heat bent technique with a unique mold for each different curvature glass panels. The heat bent molds is formed by a net shape steel pipe which supporting the glass panel with the exact curvature in the heating process. Standard curvature tolerance control within ±2.5mm, size tolerance control within±3mm. Project Beijing New Planetarium consumed 360 units of heat bent.
